Medical Insurance & Billing
While Colon Hydrotherapy and Colonics are not accepted by all insurance carriers, many insurers will accept claims made by clients if accompanied by a prescription from an authorized health care provider. Typically, your M.D., D.O., D.D.S., or Nurse Practitioner may write a prescription, if asked.
Atlanta Colonic & Massage does not directly accept insurance, clients claims for insurance or bill your medical insurance provider.
If you intend to submit an insurance claim for services, we advise you to ask your physician or health practitioner for a prescription for Colon Hydrotherapy “as needed” or “as necessary to correct bowel response” (language which may increase the chance your claim will be accepted by an insurer) prior to receiving services. We also ask that you provide a copy of your prescription for our records.
ICD-9-CM codes are used throughout the healthcare industry to describe diseases, injuries, symptoms and conditions. CPT codes are used to describe medical and surgical services performed by healthcare providers. ICD-9-CM codes and CPT codes are inherently related, as the diagnosis (ICD-9-CM code) must support the procedure (CPT code). Therefore, Medical claims typically require a valid ICD-9-CM diagnosis code and a CPT procedure code in order to be reimbursed.
Note: Atlanta Colonic & Massage does not diagnose treat or prescribe for any medical condition or recommend treatment.
